DestiNet now provide their newzapp email marketing services to more than 800 businesses and organisations including 17 county, district, borough and city councils with whom it has proven to be highly successful.
In both 2007 and 2008 Devon County Council won the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) award for its e-magazines called Intouch and Insider, aimed at local representatives such as councilors, MPs and MEPs as well as editors of parish newsletters. Both e-magazines were created, sent and tracked using DestiNet's newzapp email marketing.
Other local authorities using the newzapp email marketing software include Barnet Borough Council, Devon County Council, Lewisham Council, Newtownabbey Borough Council and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. More are following suit, using newzapp as they come under increasing pressure to find more cost effective and greener methods of communicating with their audiences. The newzapp email marketing system offers them a fast, efficient means of two-way communication for a wide variety of purposes.
One of the many advantages of email marketing is it offers councils a way to track their communications. This enables them to see what's of interest, so they can produce more targeted and relevant information. In addition email has the benefit of being significantly cheaper than print as well as having a lower impact on the environment.
Jade Asije, Communications Officer at Barnet Council, said newzapp email marketing has enabled them to "communicate more effectively" and offers them "excellent monitoring". When asked what advantages she felt email marketing has over other methods of communication, she said newzapp offers them "better value for money and all round more efficiency".
Stockport Council use newzapp email marketing to send their internal newsletter. Lucy Harding, Publicity and Communications Officer, said, “I think any organisation that needs to communicate messages to their employees would benefit from this technology. It informs the communications team of what is important and interesting to employees. After the success of using the software in the Business Services Directorate, Stockport Council decided to purchase another email for the Chief Executives Directorates".
"The biggest benefit for the organisation is knowing that information the council needs to communicate to employees is not just sent into a ‘black hole’ – senior managers and communications professionals know who is reading the newsletters and what they are reading”.
Trevor Munday, Managing Director of DestiNet, says "We expect to see even more councils and public sector organisations joining us in the years to come. Their focus is now firmly on greener, cost effective and easily monitored marketing channels. This will naturally lead them to digital channels like email. They'll also seek experienced and established partners with whom they can grow their marketing. newzapp email marketing is now firmly established as a leader in this sector and we're very excited about the future prospects in this market".
