Internet solutions company, Exeter-based DestiNet, has helped public relations, brand building and corporate development consultancy, Magna Communications, build a website that allows journalists across the globe to quickly reach its clients' latest news.
The Dorset-based consultancy had found that its previous website was excellent as a promotional window, but did not allow it to distribute its clients' news quickly over the Internet. With its work distributed to more than 800 titles in over 20 countries, Magna Communications felt it needed to update its Internet facilities. Sharon Parfitt, Director of the consultancy says:
" We wanted to empower the media to have access to clients' news when they want it, and that meant providing around the clock, around the globe access. The Internet was the obvious solution ".
DestiNet and Magna Communications worked together during the building of the website, but Sharon Parfitt says that the graphics and the mechanics of the website were the Internet solutions company's own creation. This delivered what the PR consultancy calls its International NewsDesk; a dedicated section of the website that allows journalists easy access to clients' latest news releases and high resolution photographs, exhibition plans and a full interactive directory of each client's news stories.
Sharon Parfitt considers the new website the jewel in the company's crown. "The website created by DestiNet has, we know, no equal in the PR business. Very few consultancies incorporate clients' latest news on their website, and we are not aware of any other consultancy that has anything approaching the sophistication of our NewsDesk." She continues: "The website fully supports our own brand building activities and effectively keeps our clients' news in front of the world's media. It is also an excellent showcase for our business. The level of service we are consistently getting from DestiNet is also a major benefit to us, and ultimately to our clients and the media around the world."
